Vehicle Registration Solutions in Europe

Provided by LUM

To help customers smoothly complete the vehicle registration and licensing process in Europe, LUM offers the following three solution options. Please choose the one that best suits your needs.

Option 1: Registration in Poland

  • Destination: Poland

  • Support Unit: LUM’s local professional partner in Poland

  • Service Scope: Assistance with customs clearance and local vehicle registration in Poland

  • Documents Required from Customer:

    • China COC Certificate (Certificate of Conformity)

    • Original Vehicle Registration Certificate

    • Commercial Invoice (CI), Packing List (PL), Bill of Lading (BL)

    • Certificate of Cancellation of Motor Vehicle

  • Cost Responsibility: All registration and service costs are to be borne by the customer.

Option 2: Customer-Led Registration

  • Core Requirement: Customer provides the name and contact information of the local vehicle registration authority.

  • Our Support: LUM will coordinate with the local authority to confirm the license plate registration process and documentation requirements for imported used vehicles (same as Option 1).

  • Cost Responsibility: Customer

Option 3: Pre-Shipment Technical Preparation for EU Standards

(Applicable for Germany, Belgium, France, etc.)

  • Destinations: Germany, Belgium, France, and other core EU markets

  • Pre-Shipment Requirements:

    • Vehicle must be modified to comply with EU technical standards (e.g., headlights, rearview mirrors, charging ports, etc.)

    • Ensures conformity with registration and road regulations in EU countries

  • Special Cost:

    • COC certificate application fee in Germany: approx. €2,000 per vehicle (depending on model)

  • Cost Responsibility: Customer

Recommendation Guide

  • If the customer has local resources and understands the registration process, Option 2 is recommended.

  • If a fully supported, end-to-end service is preferred, Option 1 is ideal.

  • For entry into technically strict markets (e.g., Germany), please plan for Option 3 in advance to avoid high post-shipment modification costs.
